Metal Detector Regatta: A Useful Tool for Identifying Metal Objects
Metal Detector Regatta is a free Android application developed by Netigen under the Utilities & Tools category. This app allows users to identify any metal object in their vicinity by measuring the magnetic field value. It uses the magnetic sensor built-in to your mobile device and displays the magnetic field level in μT (microtesla). The magnetic field level (EMF) in nature is about 49 μT (micro tesla) or 490 mG (milli gauss); 1μT = 10mG. If any metal is near, the value of the magnetic field will increase.
The app is easy to use - just launch it on your mobile device and move it around. The magnetic field level shown on the screen will constantly fluctuate, and colorful lines will represent the three dimensions. The numbers on top show the value of magnetic field level (EMF). The chart will increase, and the device will vibrate and make sounds announcing that metal is nearby. In settings, you can change the sensitivity of vibration and sound effects.
